On Tuesday 21 October 2025, the Groupement des Femmes Vaillantes et Dynamiques du Grand-Lomé (GFVD-GL) held its Grande Marche Rose (Great Pink March). In pink polo shirts, caps and headscarves, participants turned out to carry a prevention message through the streets of Lomé.

From Kégué to the Maison de la Sage-Femme

Setting off at 8:00 am from the headquarters of the Togolese Football Federation in Kégué, the procession, accompanied by a brass band, made its way to the Maison de la Sage-Femme in Hédzranawoé, where breast and cervical cancer screening was offered to participants.

“Women, at any age, get screened to prevent and fight breast cancer and cervical cancer.”

On T-shirts and banners alike, one rallying cry: “Tous ensemble, luttons contre les cancers féminins” (Together, let’s fight women’s cancers). A message carried joyfully, with songs and music, all along the route.
