About us

Women standing together against women’s cancers

The Groupement des Femmes Vaillantes et Dynamiques du Grand-Lomé (GFVD-GL) runs the Togo en Rose campaign so that every woman in Togo knows the warning signs, can access screening and never faces the disease alone.

Our mission

Prevent to preserve

“Prévenir pour préserver” — prevent to preserve

When breast or cervical cancer is detected early, it can be treated far more effectively. Our belief is simple: information and screening save lives. We work on three complementary fronts.

  1. Raise awareness

Talk openly about women’s cancers in neighbourhoods, markets, places of worship and the media, and teach every woman the simple steps of breast self-examination.

  2. Promote screening

Organise and promote breast and cervical cancer screening days with health professionals, and refer women to the right facilities.

  3. Provide support

Listen to, guide and support women affected by cancer and their loved ones, so that no one faces diagnosis, treatment or life after cancer alone.

Who we are

The Groupement des Femmes Vaillantes et Dynamiques du Grand-Lomé

GFVD-GL brings together committed women from Greater Lomé, from every professional and social background, united by one goal: pushing back women’s cancers in Togo.

Through Togo en Rose, the group mobilises around Pink October with an awareness walk, conferences, round tables and screening days. All year round, its members share prevention messages and help women find their way to health centres.

Our strength is proximity: women talking to other women, in their own language and in their own neighbourhood, with kindness and without judgement.
